Astragalus is an herb that has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and has historic use elsewhere, including in England, where it was called "Milk Vetch". There are more than 2,000 known species, and its root is said to promote healthy immunity and respiration, as well as to help soothe intestinal irritation.
Astragalus is used in health supplements today to help support respiratory and immune system function.
