Also Known As: Cysteine, 2-Amino-3-sulfhydrylpropanoic acid

L-Cysteine is an amino acid used in the synthesis of proteins.  It can be consumed through a variety of plant and animal sources in the diet.  It supports the synthesis of antioxidants and plays an important role in protecting tissues and organs.

L-Cysteine is used in a variety of health supplements today, including as nourishment for hair, skin, and nails.
