Vitamin B-3 is one of eight B vitamins and an essential nutrient for all animals, found naturally in organ meats and nuts.  It helps the body convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which the body uses to produce energy.  Niacin also improves circulation and helps the body make various sex and stress-related hormones in the adrenal glands and other parts of the body.

Vitamin B-3 is used in health supplements today to promote healthy blood circulation it may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.  It also plays a key role in the metabolism of fats, protein and carbohydrates, along with other B vitamins.
