Horseradish is a root vegetable commonly used as a condiment and leafy vegetable in Europe and Western Asia for thousands of years. The spicy scent only appears when the root is cut into or grated. It was historically ingested to support respiratory functions and used topically to help with joint aches and chest congestion.
Horseradish is used in health supplements today to promote respiratory health and blood circulation.
