L-TYROSINE

Also Known As: Acetyl-L-tyrosine, 2-Acetylamino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-propanoic acid, Tyrosine, Tyr

L-Tyrosine is an amino acid used in the synthesis of proteins.  It is produced naturally in the body and is also found in high-protein food products.  It is a precursor to neurotransmitters (particularly dopamine and norepinephrine), and it has been shown to help during times of stress and fatigue.

L-Tyrosine is used in health supplements today to help promote mental health and cognition, alertness, and healthy responses to stress.
