Resveratrol is a natural compound found in plants, and Japanese Knotweed is a common source.  Plants produce this compound to ward off attack or in response to injury.  It is an antioxidant, which fights free radicals that are believed to be a cause of premature aging.

Resveratrol is used in health supplements today as an antioxidant, to promote the health of cells and tissues throughout the body.
