VITAMIN D-3 AND IBS

Vitamin D is essential for the human body.  Not only is it important for bone health, but the vitamin plays a key role in nerve cell communication and immune system functioning.  According to a meta-analysis of all available research, studies that investigated vitamin D levels among people with IBS indicate that vitamin D deficiency is common across ethnicities (1).  Another study, collected data from 37 IBS sufferers showing approximately 70% reported high-dose supplementation improved IBS symptoms (2).
