Oregano is a flowering perennial herb in the mint family, native to the Mediterranean region and Eurasia.  It is commonly used as a culinary herb in Italian and Latin cultures, and in the Middle East it is often used to flavor meat.

Oregano is used in health supplements today for its immune supportive properties and to enhance respiratory health.
