WHITE TEA

BACKGROUND

Ingredient Type: Botanical, Extract

Also Known As: Camellia sinensis, Tea camellia, Chinese tea, Common tea, Black tea, Green tea

White tea, and all true tea (in contrast with herbal tea), comes from a single plant – Camellia sinesis – which is processed in different ways to yield green tea, oolong, black tea, and other varieties.  White tea has young, silvery leaves that are minimally processed.  All tea contains beneficial polyphenols, which have tonifying and antioxidant properties.

White tea is used in supplements today for its antioxidant benefits.
